"Mark’s inspiration often originates from his love and respect for family members and women of fame. “Shoshana Apple Table” was named after his oldest sister, a flutist. His “Paganini Flower Blossom Shelf” was created in loving memory of his younger sister, who played the violin. Mark also created a series named after starlets that outwardly were beautiful, but their lives were tragic.”
As a contemporary artist, Mark is positioned among major predecessors in Modernism, such as Wendell Castle, who blurred the lines between art and design. His art alters our perspective about the choices we make for art and practical items in our homes and places of business. We may envision enhancing our lives with his beautiful, healing, and functional works of art."

About Heidi Loewen

Heidi Loewen is a distinguished curator, gallerist, and sculptor with extensive experience in New York, Boston, Santa Fe, and New Mexico art communities. She credits her success to her parents, who encouraged her to approach life with kindness and creative authenticity. Raised in an artistic, musical, and scientific family in Rochester, New York, Heidi draws inspiration from music and her love of the outdoors. As an avid skier, the snow-covered moguls significantly influence her porcelain and metal sculptures. She discovered that the business side of art can be just as rewarding as creating sculptures with metal and clay, as demonstrated by her numerous high-level corporate team-building classes.
Loewen earned a Bachelor of Science in fine art, art history, and languages from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She also studied abroad for a year at the Sorbonne in Paris. From 1979 to 1985, she was the business manager for the prestigious Sotheby’s Art Auction House in New York. After leaving Sotheby’s, she became the assistant curator for the Spring Creek Art Foundation in Boston. Loewen has succeeded as a gallerist, artist, and educator at Heidi Loewen Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe.
She has been an active member of the Santa Fe Art Gallery Association and has taught ceramics at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Her six-foot-tall, metal, ruby red stiletto sculpture, “It’s the Shoe that Makes the Woman,” has become a landmark on the roof of her gallery. She was honored as the Santa Fe Artist of the Year and has received numerous awards from Miami Basel, Art Santa Fe, Western University of New Mexico, UNESCO-South Korea, and Harvard University.
Loewen continues to exhibit her work globally and plans to publish a book of her artwork soon. She has also been invited to participate in prestigious international exhibitions and is continuously expanding her extensive network of collectors.
